对此，斯坦尼斯劳斯县警长部门的维罗妮卡·埃斯基韦斯中士解释，搜救区域的遗漏并非由于训练不足，而是遵循特定搜索程序的结果。“那个区域之前未被覆盖，潜水员正是按照指示去探索新区域，”她强调，“这是个遗憾的巧合，而非训练缺陷。”

布伦达生前被誉为强健的泳者，她的不幸提醒人们即便是游泳高手，也无法完全抵御自然水域中潜在的危险暗流。

“她是一位无私奉献的母亲，”豪尔赫回忆说，“为了孩子们，她愿意付出所有，甚至是生命。”
